St George's takes gold
The 2009 Scottish School Magazine Awards, held at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, saw St George's School for Girls' magazine, Independent Women, claim the title of Scottish School Magazine of the Year 2009.
Keith Brown, MSP Minister for Schools and Skills, presented the awards, saying: 'These skills are very relevant to the workplace and will stand pupils in good stead for whatever they choose to do when they leave school.'
The delighted winning team of girls will attend the Scottish Magazine Awards in November as guests of the Periodical Publishers Association Scotland.
